Art.Work to Premiere on BYUTV

Oct 12, 2012 No Comments by

The series Art.Work features nine stories from all departments in the College of Fine Arts and Communications. Each of Art.Work’s five episodes demonstrates the passion and achievements of students in the College. The first two episodes in the series air Tuesday, October 16 at 6:00 p.m.

The show was produced to feature the excellence in the college, and it just so happened that four of those featured students went on to receive national and even international recognition for their work. Rebecca Ingram was at the 2012 Region VIII Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival where she competed in the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Auditions. After making it to the finals, she traveled to Washington D.C. where she won the National Classical Acting Award. Summer Holm, Hawken Vance and Kylie Cox won first-place in the National L’Oreal Brandstorm Competition in New York City, and A. Todd Smith received an award for Best Director at the 33rd College Television Awards for his work on Mr. Bellpond.

About the author

The faculty and staff of the College of Fine Arts and Communications teach students to think, to feel, to perform, and to communicate. Our purpose is to give students the knowledge and skills requisite to a higher education in fine arts and communications. We open doors to the world of truth and beauty for exploration by majors and non-majors alike. Work in this college requires discipline, critical analysis, research, empathy, and integrity as the means to acquire knowledge and competency in various areas of study encompassed by the departments of Dance, Theatre and Media Arts, Communications, Visual Arts, the School of Music, and Museum of Art.
